General Windows Shortcuts

  • Windows + D: Show/hide the desktop
  • Windows + L: Lock the computer or switch users
  • Windows + E: Open File Explorer
  • Windows + I: Open Settings
  • Windows + R : Displays the "Run" dialog box
  • Windows + S : Open Windows Search
  • Windows + A : Opens the Action Center
  • Windows + M : Minimizes all windows
  • Windows + H : Activate the dictation function
  • Windows + Tab : Opens Task View

    Shortcuts for File Management

    • Ctrl + A: Selects all elements in a window
    • Ctrl + C: Copy the selected item
    • Ctrl + X: Cuts the selected element
    • Ctrl + V: Paste the copied or cut element
    • Ctrl + D (or Delete): Moves the item to the Recycle Bin
    • Shift + Delete: Deletes a file without sending it to the trash.

    • F2: Renames the selected file or folder.
    • Alt + Enter: Displays the properties of the selected file

      • Ctrl + X: Cuts the selected text

      • Ctrl + Right/Left Arrow: Moves the cursor to the beginning of the next or previous word.
