Do you like to keep up with all the phone releases each year? 2022 brought us everything from new processors to various surprises from manufacturers, but it wasn't the most exciting year. That's why 2023 is likely to be much more exciting and certainly won't disappoint. So here's a guide to the best phones of 2023.
New Gaming Phones in 2023
Below, we'll show you a brief list of confirmed new phone releases for 2023:
Samsung Galaxy S23
Samsung's next big phone will undoubtedly be the Galaxy S23. Or, to be more specific, the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The current information is based on rumors claiming that while things won't be a huge visual change, there will be some hardware improvements. These would potentially include a pixel-packed 200MP main camera and a 40MP front-facing selfie camera.
The important part to include is faster charging, as it's missing compared to the 65W+ fast charging found on other phones like OnePlus, Xiaomi, Motorola, and more.
Apple iPhone 15
There aren't many solid rumors surrounding the iPhone 15. It's set to launch in September 2023, as Apple's releases and dates are, thankfully, very consistent.
It would be ideal if Dynamic Island were to make its way to the base iPhone 15 models. It would also be nice to see 8K video recording (why not), along with a periscope zoom camera to better match the lossless 10x optical zoom offered by the formidable Galaxy S22 Ultra.
In that sense, we could see the launch of an iPhone 15 Ultra instead of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, if the latest rumors are to be believed. Time will tell which ones turn out to be true.
One Plus 11
The latest major OnePlus model arrives in China in January, and the rest of the world has to wait until February for details like price and availability, but there's already a lot of information about the OnePlus 11.
It will be among the new phones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, will have a trio of rear cameras with the Hasselblad insignia and a high-resolution AMOLED display.
Other niceties include the returning alert slider, missing from the OnePlus 10T, and fast wired charging. The bigger question is whether OnePlus can keep costs low enough to maintain its appeal.
Google Pixel Fold
What about the Pixel Fold? Depending on who you ask, you'll hear a wide variety of answers. Some thought the Pixel 6 would be flexible. Others predicted a separate Pixel Fold device would launch by the end of 2021. Now, the latest information indicates that Google won't be launching the Fold at all—at least, not in its current form.
Does that mean we won't see a foldable Pixel phone in 2023? Not necessarily. Chances are, Google has scrapped its first attempt at a foldable. That would certainly fit with industry reports claiming Google won't launch a foldable in the first half of 2023.
