How to update your POCO to MIUI 14?
To update your POCO phone to the MIUI 14 version, the most convenient and ideal option is to appear on any of the lists so that you can do it automatically.
If you appear on the list, all you need to do is the following:
Go to Settings > About phone, where you can check the MIUI version you currently have.
If it is a version prior to MIUI 14 you have the option to update it.
To update, select "Check for updates." This will allow the system to search for available updates for your POCO phone. If it offers you one, select it immediately to begin the process.
Once updated, restart your phone to enjoy the new update.
Done, you have now updated to the latest version MIUI 14.
What if… my POCO doesn’t appear on the list?
If your POCO doesn't appear in the list, it's most likely because when you try to update, the MIUI 14 version isn't displayed.
In this case, you have the option of waiting for a new list to be released in the coming months, giving you time for the update to reach your region. And if your phone is very old, it's best to purchase a newer POCO version .
But if the problem is just a matter of time for the version to reach your region, then you can do the following to speed up the process:
- The first thing to do is make a backup, as files and apps could disappear during the process.
- Unlock the bootloader, for which you will need a Mi account, you will also need to ask Xiaomi for permission.
- Download and run Mi Flash Unlock and connect your phone with a USB cable (put it in fastboot mode). To run the tool, turn off your phone and press the power and volume buttons at the same time. The app will confirm that the bootloader has been unlocked.
- Flash the firmware package using the Xiaomi Flash Tool. This tool lets you lock the bootloader and reset your POCO. Now, check for the MIUI 14 update in Xiaomi Firmware Updater .
- Open Xiaomi Flash Tool and give it the path where the update is hosted.
- Finally, don't forget to relock the bootloader.
That's it! Restart your phone and start enjoying the new version of MIUI 14 on your POCO.
