You're one of the lucky ones who has traded in your old cell phone for one of our new, state-of-the-art phones , and you're just now taking it out of the box. Congratulations!
But before you start installing apps or connecting cables, the first thing you need to do is recover all the information you left on your old phone.
Let's see how to make this information migration as simple as possible.
-
Clean up your old cell phone
Backing up your data can take a long time, depending on the amount of information you have stored. Therefore, it's a good idea to start by wiping your old phone clean before transferring data.
You can use the "cleaner" app, which effectively deletes junk files stored in your cache. You can also select the spaces you want to clean, such as YouTube, Gallery, and others.
Review all the apps you have installed and make sure you're actually using them. Delete games you don't use and photos and videos that aren't important to save.
-
Turn on your phone and set it up
It's time to set up your new phone. To do this, you'll need to turn it on, select the language, and connect it to Wi-Fi.
Enter the email address that your new phone will be configured with. This can be the same email address you use on your old phone or a new one.
The setup wizard for your new phone will ask you whether you want to copy the apps and data from your old phone or not. When you select "yes," it will ask you where to copy this data from (Android, iPhone, or Google Drive).
If you've already sold your old phone , you most likely have your data stored on Google Drive. Otherwise, you'll just need to transfer the data from your old phone to your new one.

Data migration begins
If you have a Google Pixel , this step is solved with the Google Data Transfer Tool migration assistant. On Samsung phones, the migration assistant is called Smart Switch. On OnePlus phones, the assistant is called Phone Clone. For Xiaomi phones, use Xiaomi's Mi Mover. For other phone brands, we recommend using the official migration assistant for your phone.
Most migration wizards will ask you what data you want to migrate, which can include:
- Applications
- Photos
- Contacts
- Videos
- System settings
- Wallpapers
- Calendar events
- WhatsApp chats
- Music
- Others
Select the ones you are interested in or all of them.
For the migration to work, you'll need to connect the migration assistants on both phones (the old and the new one). This is easily done by scanning the QR code.
Once the data transfer is complete, you'll see that your new phone will have all the apps and data from your old phone, but now with all the benefits of a new-generation phone.
Done! Now all you have to do is enjoy your new cell phone.
And if you haven't decided to buy one yet, we invite you to visit the GSPRO.CL Smartphone store to see all of our latest generation cell phones.
