Apple is entering a new era following the announcement at Apple's annual WWDC 2023 developer conference that it is venturing into mixed reality with the release of its first glasses, which they have named Apple Vision Pro .
The Apple Vision Pro glasses will come with a completely new operating system developed specifically for these headsets called VisionOS. In Tim Cook's own words, it's a revolutionary spatial computer that combines the physical and virtual worlds.
And the initial sales price, announced at around $3,499, has also been revolutionary, although it will be available for sale starting next year, starting in the United States.
And… what makes Apple Vision Pro glasses so special compared to Meta Quest glasses, the leading brand in VR glasses so far?
Here we tell you everything that was revealed at the conference.
-
A unique and powerful viewer
Among the most notable features is its polished glass visor, which has a socially friendly effect, since when wearing the glasses you are not completely isolated from reality.
You can see the people around you, and they can see your eyes, thanks to a technology called Eye Sight . If the glasses are playing content, you can see a colored screen indicating that you're currently engaged with your content. But if someone gets too close to you, the screen becomes transparent, and your eyes become visible.
To achieve this powerful effect on vision, the brand has developed 5 sensors and 12 high-resolution cameras for this device that help track head and eye movement.
Now we know why the name Vision Pro was chosen.
-
An immersive audio
The next thing the brand has highlighted most about its glasses has been its spatial audio system, which allows for truly immersive immersion.
The sound adapts to the characteristics of the room thanks to a ray tracing technique for audio (RayTracing Audio).
-
A different interaction
The design and use of Apple's mixed reality headsets are designed for both gaming and entertainment (movies and TV shows), as well as for work, enabling virtual collaboration.
You'll be able to create an avatar that will act like you within the virtual world. In reality, it will be you, because Vision Pro will scan your face and build your avatar from it to naturally represent you as a 3D user. It will be so lifelike that it will be able to simulate your own gestures and movements.
-
Maximum data security
And as for the security of your data, there's nothing to worry about.
It will use a system called OpticID, very similar to the iPhone's already well-known FaceID, which will verify the user's identity by scanning their iris.
This has undoubtedly been a huge and bold step for Apple, and at GSMPRO.CL we're at the forefront of bringing you all the futuristic technology from your favorite brands.
