Call of Duty ya tiene fecha tope para llegar a Nintendo Switch

The arrival of Call of Duty games on Nintendo Switch  and on other Nintendo consoles it already has a deadline, and it will be before August 30, 2024, the latest date that the agreement between Microsoft and Nintendo has reached according to the European Commission (EC).

Let's see what this agreement is about and what it says.

Agreement between Microsoft and Nintendo

The European Commission notes in the public version of the Microsoft/Activision Blizzard case document , on page 107, that Microsoft and Nintendo signed the Letter of Intent for […] 2022 (the “Nintendo LOI”) based on which Microsoft has committed to develop and publish future console versions of the Call of Duty title for native versions and to run on the Nintendo platform for at least 10 years starting from August 30, 2024.

We emphasize that it has been pointed out that these will be native versions because, in the context of video games, this means that the games will be designed and developed specifically for Nintendo. In other words, they will be games created from the ground up to take full advantage of Nintendo's capabilities and resources, rather than being adapted for that platform.

So Nintendo and its fans are hoping to get the most out of its hardware and take advantage of the console's unique features for Call of Duty.

Call of Duty and its impact on video games

Call of Duty is a popular first-person shooter (FPS) video game franchise that has become one of the most successful and recognizable series in the gaming industry. It was initially developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. Due to Microsoft's recent acquisition of Activision, the latter company is now closely associated with Nintendo. There are even rumors that Microsoft is interested in acquiring it.

The series has expanded over the years, and several different development studios have contributed to the creation of various titles within the franchise.

The main theme of "Call of Duty" is war and military combat, and the series has covered a variety of historical periods, settings, and scenarios.

Some of the most notable deliveries have been:

  1. Call of Duty (2003): The first game in the series, set during World War II and focusing on important historical events.
  2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2007): This installment changed the theme of the series by setting it in the contemporary era, addressing modern conflicts and threats.
  3. Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010): Introduced a plot related to the Cold War and covert warfare, with elements of conspiracy and espionage.
  4. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (2014): Offered a futuristic vision of warfare with advanced technology and innovative gameplay mechanics.
  5. Call of Duty: Warzone (2020): A free-to-play battle royale game that has become a phenomenon in its own right, with a sprawling combat map and a focus on online multiplayer matches.
  6. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (2023): The game is expected to be released this coming November 10th and its big news is that it will feature human AI.

The "Call of Duty" franchise has earned a large fan base due to its fast-paced and exciting gameplay, realistic graphics, and focus on online multiplayer.

And if you're one of them, don't leave it too late to buy your Nintendo Switch 2.
