What we know about Samsung's FE series
The "FE" series of Samsung phones stands for "Fan Edition." These devices are more affordable versions of Samsung's high-end models and are specifically designed to meet the preferences of fans and consumers who want a premium experience at a more affordable price.
The best experience with this series was with the S20 FE, announced by Samsung in September 2020. At the time, it featured a similar design to the Galaxy S20 series, but at a more affordable price, with lower-performance specifications but still remaining high-end.
That's why the S23 FE is also expected to mirror many of the features and capabilities of the Galaxy S23 , while reducing certain specifications or using materials that could lower the final cost of the product.
This is exactly what Samsung fans were looking for: access to Samsung's high-end technology at controlled costs.
Surprises expected in the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE
Some of the surprises that the Galaxy S23 FE is expected to have were leaked by Yogesh Brar , among which are mentioned:
- A 6.4" Dynamic AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
- The manufacturer is expected to once again incorporate two different SoCs depending on the region where it is distributed. Remember that the S20 FE is powered by the Exynos 990 processor in some regions and the Snapdragon 865 processor in others, and this protocol has been maintained in the rest of the series. So for this series, we expect to see the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200 .
- 10MP front selfie camera , similar to the Galaxy S22 .
- 4,500 mAh battery with support for 25W fast and wireless charging .
- Water and dust resistance (without determining its exact category).
- One UI 5.1 based on Android 13.
- And Samsung is expected to continue with its same update policy on the Galaxy S23 FE, that is, with four years of Android updates and five years of security patches.
Will the Galaxy S23 FE be able to break the Galaxy S20 FE's 2021 sales record of over 10 million units sold for the entire year?
