The Chinese brand has surprised viewers at the IFA 2023 event with its two smartphones, the HONOR V Purse and the HONOR Magic V2.
IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung), for those unfamiliar, is the most important consumer electronics trade show in Berlin, Germany, held annually. At IFA, companies showcase their products and technological innovations in various categories, including electronics, home appliances, televisions, audio, and of course, mobile devices. It's an important event in the technology industry where brands often announce their latest and most exciting products.
This is where Honor made its presence felt in 2023 with its high-end devices, presenting two of its concepts, which we will delve into below.
HONOR Magic V2 HONOR
The official announcement of the HONOR Magic V2 was long awaited, and we were there front and center to bring you the final details of its latest foldable phone today.
It stands out among other folding models for being the thinnest and lightest on the market, weighing only 231 grams and 9.9 mm thick when folded.
This device includes the new generation of dual silicon and carbon batteries, with an average thickness of just 2.72 mm, achieving a capacity of 5,000 mAh in a more compact space.
The foldable device is equipped with an ultra-light titanium hinge developed by the brand, designed to withstand more than 400,000 folds, ensuring a lifespan of up to ten years if the device is folded about 100 times a day.
In terms of photography, its triple-camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.9), a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera (f/2.0), and a 20-megapixel telephoto lens (f/2.4). The front cameras, on the other hand, have a resolution of 16 MP (f/2.2).
In addition, this device incorporates a patented 3840Hz PWM dimming, designed to minimize eye strain during extended use.
HONOR V PURSE: SMARTPHONE IN A PURSE
As for the Honor V Purse, which has quickly been dubbed the "purse smartphone," it aims to introduce a new concept in electronic devices.
The foldable smartphone can be carried like a handbag by including customizable, always-on displays to match a person's wardrobe. This feature has become known as Always-On Displays.
Additionally, the design includes decorative elements such as chains, feathers, and tassels that blend naturally with the smartphone's design. It offers the option of using a variety of interchangeable straps and chains that connect to the hinge, allowing it to be worn over the shoulder, like a traditional handbag.
The brand also emphasized that the design has taken sustainability into account, as environmentally friendly materials, such as vegan leather, have been used to make its straps.
